Tiara Bree wants to be your CosBae

I’m still not sure how I found Tiara Bree, but I’m so happy I did. Her bubbly personality and her approachable demeanor make her very fun to watch. Whether it’s watching her going on trips, modeling, cosplaying, enjoying a night out at a premiere, rolling her eyes at youngins at the club, seeing the after workout “sweat cam”, watching her last minute cosplay projects become masterpieces, or just hearing her rant about life, she’s always a joy to watch.
I asked her to take time out of her busy schedule to chat it up about where she’s been and where she’s going.

You do and have done so much outside of cosplay. TV, Modeling, Sports. How many lives have you lived and which ones do you miss?

I honestly can’t even count how many lives I’ve lived. Every time I think I’ve remembered all my jobs, an old Facebook post pops up, an old Instagram gets tagged etc. and I remember I’ve been alive for 9000 years .😂 I don’t necessarily miss any of my jobs since I think everything I’ve done has been for a reason and season, and I can go back to them at any time. If I wasn’t cosplaying or acting though, I would definitely be a Product Specialist for Mercedes again. I got to travel the world, on their dime, drive some of the coolest most expensive cars in the world, and go to sporting events, concerts and things for free.

What is the most amazing thing that has happened to you in either of your careers?

That’s a hard one, since each experience is so unique. I have to say the most memorable would be working the Tyler Perry Studios Grand Opening in Atlanta. I literally met Denzel Washington, Oprah, Mary J Blige, Jay & Bey, Terrance Howard & Halle Berry called me beautiful. I could’ve died!

How do you balance and keep track of all you do & have done?

I love spontaneity. I’m also hyper focused so when I am working on something, that is all that I’m putting my energy into. Since I have so many jobs and interests, I just focus on one at a time so I’m not overwhelmed.

You are very down to earth and authentic with your fanbase. Do you like the response to that?

I love my response to that. I like to be transparent and let people know the real me, the parts I choose to share. You can literally follow anyone on social media, and I think people gravitate more to the genuine and real as opposed to the unattainable/unapproachable. I’ve received numerous messages from women telling me that I’ve made them feel more confident posting their bodies, more comfortable showing some belly fat, loving their stretch marks, and just being more confident overall. That’s literally all I strive to do because I know what a struggle it is, dealing with self-esteem and confidence in our society. I’m glad I can help just a little.

What was your first convention?

Dragon Con 2018! Back when I had no clue what cosplay was.

What’s the best convention you’ve been to so far?

Even though I got Covid at it, I loved Holiday Matsuri. It was so much fun, in my home state of Florida, the variations and artistry in the costumes were insane, and it was at a pool! I love the water so I don’t think it can be topped!

What convention was the biggest let down?

Katsucon 2022. I heard such great things about it and when we got there, the staff was very off-putting and ruined some parts of our experience. I’m not giving up hope as I know it can be better, but it was a let down for sure.

How long have you been cosplaying?

I just hit the 2 year mark! 🤗🤗🤗

What kind of cosplayer do you consider yourself?

I don’t necessarily think I have a type of cosplay that is my go to. I literally just dress up as I like at the time I’m feeling that way, if that makes sense. I’ve done lewd, then was over it, did screen accurate, then was over it. Now I’m trying to focus on craftsmanship and builds, and at some point I’ll be over it lol. I like to try all things to see what sticks.

Cosplay or Crossplay? Both?

BOFFUM! I love the masculine energy that comes out when I see women crossplay, and the feminine energy that comes when men crossplay. I love that people are exploring both sides of themselves and it’s always fun to see.

Why do you cosplay?

I love to express myself creatively, however I choose, whenever I choose. There are no limits to the amount of creativity, style, and yourself that you can put into your cosplay. It helps people grow, heal, learn themselves, and just be a positive fun outlet to express! I love seeing the joy it brings others to dress as their favorite or most hated characters!
