Mutant Glue cosplayed as Storm and Blade and everyone I knew in cosplay was like “OH WOW”. We loved her presence and the way she stepped into the character in cosplay. She kept up the great work and one day, in frustration at her full time job, decided to go full time and take her hobby full time.
I hit her up a while back and asked her to describe her venture as a full time cosplayer and about some awesome things that have happened.
What was the moment that made you say, “I’m out! F*ck this job!”?
The minute that they were not going to give me another manager position, after stating the one that I was in would no longer be an active position…..I had to go. The store I worked for as a whole was NOT good for my mental/physical health. I had to go. I had the support to leave so I left.
What let you know that you could bet on yourself as a Full Time Cosplayer?
The amount of support I had gotten from everyone around me, plus all of the opportunities that had fallen (and keep falling) into my lap was enough of a sign for me to just…..do it. Whats the worst that can happen honestly, nothing that I can’t pick myself back up from.
What is your favorite thing about the Full Time cosplay life?
The amount of content I am able to create is unreal…now…the real question is…have I actually been making that much content…..the HONEST answer is no. Ive been too busy planning trips to cons that I will be a guest at.
What is something you would tell someone that you wish you knew before going full time?
Make extra double sure that you have ALL of your ducks in a row. I kinda went spur of the moment with my decision and I had a general idea…but I needed a bit more time…and support.
Tell me about meeting Rosario Dawson. How did it feel, and if you had the chance to work with her at an event, would you?
Even though the meeting was virtual….. I was still nervous. I was counting down the minutes and PRAYING TO THE GODS that my internet wouldn’t crap out on me. I cut out one time (which gave me a slight panic attack) but that was it. She is so down to earth, friendly and from the vibe that I got…supportive. It felt like I was talking to someone I haven’t seen in years. You are REALLY gonna ask me that…….. um…YEEEEES! Listen…if she asks…..I’m down. 110% down and ready!
How long have you been cosplaying?
Ive been cosplaying since 2017.
What got you into cosplaying?
Peer Pressure. XD Actually…no…. the moment I got pictures back from my Blade cosplay, I wanted to do something with it. Something was calling me to this lifestyle. Im glad I listened….my wallet and bank account on the other hand hate me. XD
What kind of cosplayer do you consider yourself?
I have NEVER been asked this question before…… I would consider myself a Professional, Nostalgic Cosplayer.
What is your favorite cosplay project?
Making the Dr. Facilier hat. I had a lot of fun and alot of trial and error with that one. I love the way it turned out.
What is a cosplay pet peeve of yours?
Oh I have a list for that one……the main pet peeve is GATEKEEPERS. I will never understand why they feel the need to tell someone who they can and can’t cosplay.
If you could cosplay anywhere in the world, where would it be?
For legal purposes, I have to say the Bahamas. (XD) Honestly… I would love to be in Italy or Scotland. The scenery for shots would be TOP TIER!!!!
What is your favorite way to interact with your community?
At a convention…or even during a meetup. I would also love to have one on ones with my community. Hopefully we can do that in the future.

Thanks to MG for her time, and thank you for reading!
